Pitt actually gave two amazingly reviewed performances this year in 2 Best Picture nominated films and won 2 of the biggest critics awards. It doesn't seem like you've seen either movie, and if you did you may dislike them of course, but there is no reason to say his nomination is undeserved. Also, there is no way you can accuse him of playing the same roles all the time.
I’ve seen both films and while I think Brad’s performance is more deserving than Clooney’s, he’s been phoning it in for a while now. In my opinion, anyway (and I say that as someone who is generally a fan of his films).
My issue isn’t even with their performances, it’s that I came across several posts that implied Rooney Mara was undeserving of her nomination because of… what, exactly? She was in a film they disliked? Acting like they nominated someone who slept walked through the role and didn’t give an impressive, nuanced performance is such bullshit, especially in comparison to some of the other nominations.
